In a sign of more troubling times for Microsoft aside from the threat of open source, cybercriminals are getting more and more sophisticated these days with the latest security headache so far named "Conficker". Although strong passwords would get you that far,  the fact that the worm can copy itself to ADMIN$\System32, USB drives and those portable storage capable of AutoPlay is ample enough to mount an attack even if a potential victim has the latest Windows updates! Of course that is too simplistic a description. The worm using password harvesting and sophisticated botnet control prompts Microsoft to reward $250K to catch criminals responsible for it. Residents of any country are eligible for the reward, according to the laws of that country, because Internet viruses affect the Internet community worldwide.
